Your Hospitalization at the IMM 

80% of patient rooms at the IMM are single rooms. The remaining 20% are double occupancy.

• The team is led by a cadre of health, which coordinates patient care and hospitality. Nurses and nursing aides provide daily medical care.

• Hospitality agents deal specifically with the maintenance of your room, under the supervision of a governess, in compliance with strict hygiene rules.

Upon Hospitalization

Depending on the reason for your hospitalization (medical or surgical), you will generally be admitted the day prior, the day of or a few days prior to your planned intervention.
 
Upon arrival, you will be greeted by a hospital hostess who will lead you to your room and set up your telephone line. Your nurse will the get you settled in prior to your evaluation by the medical/surgical team. 

Your Room

Each department at the IMM is comprised of single and double occupancy rooms. Placement is based on availability and medical needs and may not be reserved. Each room has a bathroom with a shower.  In the maternity ward, space is available for the care of the newborn.

Everything is arranged for patient convenience: each room is equipped with a adjustable bed with remote control, a night table with mini-refrigerator, a television (free) and a telephone.

Meals

Breakfast is served between 8 am and 8:30 am (unless your management requires hat you be fasting).
Lunch is served between 12pm and 12:30 pm and dinner at 7 pm. In late afternoon, a snack is served.  Everyday, a menu prepared by hospital dieticians will be provided from which you will choose your selections for the day.  The dieticians are also available to address specific patient dietary considerations.  Should you have any specific dietary habits, we advise that you speak with your nurse or dietician upon your arrival.

Your Departure

Discharges from the hospital occur daily, usually in the late morning.  You will receive a discharge folder with your medicine prescriptions, your follow-up appointment and dietary restrictions.  Should you desire, your surgical records, imaging study reports, and laboratory tests will also be available for you to take. Should you designate, your primary doctor will receive a discharge summary describing the events of your hospital stay including operative report(s) and imaging/pathology results within a few days of your discharge.  Finally, we will ask you to kindly complete a satisfaction questionnaire on the eve of your departure.
