The digestive disease’s department include the medical and surgical specialty.

Together, gastroenterologists, hepatologists, doctors performing endoscopies and surgeons will decide on the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the digestive tract.

Diseases of the digestive tract include:

• Diseases of the gastrointestinal system: oesophagus – stomach – small intestine – large intestine – rectum – anus
• Disorders of the liver and biliary tract disease: liver – pancreas – gallblader – and biliary tract.
• Diseases of the abdominal layer: inguinal, crural and incisional hernias, rectal prolapses.
• Diseases of other intra-abdominal glands such as spleen and adrenal glands.

• Digestive oncology by using laparoscopic surgical techniques and interventional endoscopies.
