Department of Orthopaedic surgery (49 beds)

This Department is made of 5 predominant activities:

• complex surgery of the spine (290 per year),
• hip replacement surgery (350 per year),
• knee surgery (225 per year),
• foot and ankle surgery (125 per year).

The last evolution is the development of upper limb surgery with ambulatory activity. Each specific activity is managed by a senior hyper specialist surgeon.
 
Major particularities are related to the high technologic part required by spinal surgery, revision total hip replacement and combined procedures on spinal and thoracic cancer.
 
This department manipulates high technologies (image transmission with medical imaging), and is also very much involved in research, new prostheses development and surgical techniques.
