Main orientations 

The Department is medico-surgical.

It deals with :

• the diagnosis and treatment of adult respiratory tract pathologies: lungs, bronchi, trachea, pleura, mediastinum, chest, diaphragm, and pulmonary arteries. Treatment of primary, or secondary malignant tumours of the lungs, bronchi and mediastinum.
• Surgical treatment of thoracic and diaphragmatic pathologies: benign and malignant tumours, acquired and congenital chest wall deformities.
• Medical respiratory pathologies: acute and chronic diseases of the respiratory tract.
• Endoscopic surgery and new techniques in minimally invasive surgery, especially in the following areas: pulmonary, pleural and mediastinal diseases, hyperhidrosis (sympathectomies), and intrathoracic lesions of the oesophagus.
• Bronoscopy fibroscopies and spirometry as well as endoscopic treatment of tracheo-bronchial diseases (prosthesis).
• Diagnosis and treatment of thromboembolic venous diseases (phlebitis and pulmonary embolisms).

Other orientations 

Endocrine surgery (thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal glands). Splenic surgery and surgery of some oesophageal diseases.
