The division of Cardiac Medico-Surgical Pathology provides diagnosis and treatment for both acquired and congenital heart disease in adult and children’s over 30 kg. The division has a long tradition of managing advanced coronary artery disease with the use of off pump revascularisation in appropriate candidates, as well as repair of complex heart disease. In addition all aspects of cardiac surgery are performed except heart transplantation including; the full range of aortic pathologies from ascending and descending aorta to acute aortic dissection; and also complex mitral valve repair. A special interest of the department is devoted to the development of minimal invasive techniques which include currently ; operation of videosurgery and robotic surgery,using minimal incision for closures of heart defect as well as valve repair or replacement and aorto-coronary bypasses.

The cardiac surgery department is located on the 5th floor of our hospital with a capacity of 49 beds, our intensive cardiac unit has 12 beds with 24 hour coverage by an in house cardiologist with competence in angioplasty, and our post cardiac surgery unit has 10 beds.
In addition to surgery, a coronary artery catheterization laboratory is located on the first floor which allows the practice of angioplasty and catheterization and interventional cardiology.
Outpatients visits are held daily, by appointment, morning and afternoon, from Monday to Friday. Appointments can be made from 9 am to 6 pm everyday by dialing directly : from France 01 56 61 65 10, from other countries 33 1 56 61 65 10.

Patients are admitted after 3 pm one day or the day before surgery or cardiac catheterization according to their status. They will be visited by a cardiologist, the cardiac surgeon and the anaesthesiologist who will review the entire history and all available tests already performed, in order to confirm the indication and the timing for surgery.
Visits are possible in hospitalization everyday from X to X pm, and in the intensive care unit from X pm to X pm.
Patients can be discharged daily, at the end of morning after rounds, even on Saturdays and Sundays.
